Three Young Drivers Flee After Hitting Senior Walker in Nagpur

In Nagpur’s Japanese Garden Road on a Sunday morning, a senior citizen named Kailash Saudhia, aged 70, was killed when a high‑speed Inova taxi slammed into him during his usual morning stroll. The impact was so severe that the victim died on the spot and the car suffered extensive damage.

Investigations reveal that three cars were racing on the road. The driver of the Inova taxi lost control and struck the elderly man, while the other two drivers abandoned the scene without rendering aid. The taxi carried three young passengers, who were barely injured.

Local by‑standers immediately reported the accident to law enforcement. Police Commissioner Vishwas Nagar Patil and Additional CP Sunita Shah arrived quickly, inspected the wreckage, and interviewed family members.

According to Purnima, the victim’s daughter‑in‑law, three individuals have been taken into custody. She described them as appearing to be under the influence and demanded that they face the full force of the law.
