Three-Year Rigorous Imprisonment Ordered for Vyapam Fraudsters in Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh’s Special Court has imposed a three‑year rigorous imprisonment term on two individuals linked to the Vyapam examination fraud. Amitesh, who claimed to be a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddha Nagar district, and Vipin Kumar, the genuine aspirant, were each fined INR 5,000. The judgment stems from a CBI‑led investigation that was re‑opened after the Supreme Court’s intervention in 2015. The original complaint, filed by the examination centre superintendent, alleged that the impersonation was uncovered when the suspect’s appearance did not match the photograph on record.
