Three Arrested After Land Row Killing at Mandar Dairy Farm

Police in Ranchi have arrested three suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of a man during a land dispute at a dairy farm in the Mandar police station area.

The shooting took place late on Thursday night at a dairy farm in Tiko village. The man killed was identified as Ram Oraon, a resident of Sewadi village.

A named FIR has been filed against six people in the case. Apart from the three who have been arrested, police are actively searching for the other three named accused at likely hideouts.

According to police, Ram Oraon and Karu Singh, a resident of Aidra village under the Thakurgaon police station area, had been locked in a land dispute for several years. The tension between the two families had grown over time.

Police said Karu Singh went to the dairy farm of Balchand Mahto in Tiko village on Thursday night with a weapon and asked the dairy owner about Ram Oraon's arrival.

Shortly after Ram Oraon reached the farm, Karu Singh allegedly opened fire, killing him instantly. The accused then fled towards the west.

After receiving information, the Mandar police reached the spot and started an investigation into the killing.

The arrested suspects are currently being questioned. They have acknowledged that the incident was the result of a mutual dispute, officials said.

Investigators are continuing their search for the remaining accused and are examining the weapon used as well as the specific role of each person named in the case.

The incident has created a climate of tension and discussion in the locality. Police maintain that the probe is continuing and that efforts are being made to arrest the absconding accused soon.
