Thousands Witness Baba Mahakal’s Janmashtami Aarti and Krishna Form in Ujjain

Thousands of devotees thronged the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain for a unique Janmashtami observance. The ceremony began with the priests chanting mantras and offering holy water before the deity. Baba Mahakal, presented in the likeness of Lord Krishna, received a five‑element panchamrit offering and was crowned with a royal headdress. The subsequent ash aarti, accompanied by drums, conches and cymbals, created a vibrant atmosphere. As the worship concluded, the chanting of 'Jai Shri Mahakal' echoed throughout the complex, and the crowd, dressed in dhoti‑sola and sarees, experienced the divine darshan after a night‑long queue.
