Thousands of Kanwariyas Gather at Kachla Ghat and Ganga Lahar on Monday

At Kachla Ghat in Kaushambi district and the nearby Ganga Lahar Ghat, massive congregations of kanwariyas assembled on Monday. Pilgrims collected sacred Ganga water to carry to Shiva temples spread across various districts and neighboring states. Many trekked on foot from Kachla Ghat to the famed Bateshwar Dham in Shikohabad tehsil, Farrukhabad. Authorities set up checkpoints and increased police deployment along principal routes to ensure the safe passage of the pilgrims, who often travel long distances under intense heat.
