Thousands of Fertilizer Shops Seized as Odisha Enforces Strict Controls

During the current financial year, authorities have raided a total of 11,684 fertilizer outlets throughout Odisha. Twelve offending traders had their stock confiscated, and criminal cases have been filed against seven of them. The crackdown follows a similar operation in the previous year, when 9,017 shops were inspected, 2,373 notices issued, and 15 dealers had their inventories seized. The government assures that sufficient fertilizer supplies remain available at authorized outlets, urging farmers to purchase only from licensed dealers at regulated prices.
