Thousands Await Outcome as Recruitment Process Stalls for Gram Panchayat Officers

In Lucknow, hundreds of candidates from across Uttar Pradesh converged outside the official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, demanding the long‑awaited result of the Gram Panchayat Officer 2022 recruitment. The applicants assert that every step of the selection process, from the 2022 advertisement for 1,468 posts to the written examination on April 27, 2025, and the subsequent verification in April‑May 2025, has been successfully concluded.

Yet the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission has not announced the final merit list, leaving the aspirants in a state of limbo. The protestors emphasized that the prolonged delay is adversely affecting their future employment prospects and contributing to a growing sense of frustration among the youth.

Raghavendra Singh, a participant in the protest, urged immediate action, stating that the commission must release the results without further delay to enable the appointment of qualified candidates. He also called on the Deputy Chief Minister to facilitate a swift decision.

Law enforcement agencies were stationed near the Deputy Chief Minister’s quarters, but the demonstration remained orderly. Protestors submitted a written request through administrative channels, reaffirming their call for an expedited result declaration.
