Over 1,000 Demonstrators Arrested as CJ Party Protest Cancelled Ahead of Jantar Mantar Rally

On Saturday, more than a thousand individuals were taken into police custody across Delhi as the Cockroach People’s Party’s opposition march was called off. The party had scheduled a protest at Jantar Mantar to challenge the Chief Election Commissioner, but the authorities withdrew permission after the organizers failed to abide by earlier legal commitments.

Arrests were made at multiple locations, including the Indira Gandhi International Airport where party founder Abhijit Dipke and spokespersons were detained upon arrival. The crackdown reflects growing tension between the CJP and the election machinery ahead of upcoming polls.
