Thakur Accuses Congress of Undermining Democracy Post-Defeats

During a voter outreach initiative in Hamirpur on Wednesday, Anurag Thakur, a prominent BJP MP and former cabinet minister, voiced serious objections to the Congress party's post-election behavior. Joined by state party president Rajiv Bindal and local workers from across the region, Thakur framed the recent 'Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy' campaign as a direct response to opposition tactics that he believes jeopardize public confidence in elections.

Thakur scrutinized the Congress stance on the recent polls in Bihar and Kerala, particularly concerning Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. He issued a challenge to the opposition: either prove their allegations or honor the democratic outcomes in Karnataka and Kerala. He further noted the irony of questioning election results while expecting no accountability from defeated leaders, pointing out that Kerala's Chief Minister should face similar scrutiny if EVM malfunctions were indeed occurring.

Beyond national and state elections, Thakur analyzed the Congress's shrinking footprint in academic institutions. He referenced electoral upsets at Delhi University and Punjab University as evidence of a broader organizational decline. He criticized Rahul Gandhi for sidestepping necessary self-assessment and shifting responsibility to the BJP. Additionally, he mocked the attendance figures at a recent Congress rally in the capital, asserting that reality fell far short of the party's boasts, thereby validating voter rejection of their methods.

Emphasizing the danger of unfounded claims against democratic institutions, Thakur stressed that such actions damage the electorate's trust in the system. He called upon party workers to intensify their outreach efforts, ensuring that the BJP's development agenda is communicated effectively to every family, while systematically dismantling the opposition's narrative.
