Temple as community hub: Anirudh Acharya outlines duties for Ram temple

Anirudh Acharya, a noted Hindu preacher, shared his expectations for the Ram Temple’s newly appointed chief executive, Jitendra Mishra. Speaking to IANS, he said the appointment is encouraging and urged Mishra to perform his responsibilities with unwavering honesty.

He reminded audiences that temples in the Sanatan tradition are not merely sites for prayer; they function as hubs for education, cultural preservation, and social assistance. Acharya pointed to his own Gauri Gopal Temple, which despite its modest size runs a school for 175 pupils, a gaushala holding about 400 cows and 150 calves, and a kitchen that provides meals to thousands each day. Plans are also underway for a full‑scale CBSE school offering free education from primary to senior secondary levels.

According to Acharya, if a small shrine can manage such a spectrum of services, the Ram Temple has the potential to become an even larger engine of social development. He advocated that the trust’s finances be directed toward Vedic dissemination, Gurukul construction, cow‑protection schemes and other initiatives that benefit the nation.
