Telangana’s TRS Leader Criticises State Government, Demands Central Intervention

Kavita, the head of the Telangana Rashtriya Samithi, accused the state administration of abandoning its farmers amid an unprecedented drought. During a media interaction at the party’s Banjara Hills office, she pointed out that the chief minister appears to have accepted defeat, relying on ritualistic prayers instead of concrete policies.

She reminded the audience that central assistance is triggered once a state formally declares a drought area. While other states have done so, Telangana has not, leaving millions without needed relief.

The poet‑politician appealed directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting that the centre provide free electricity and other emergency measures to sustain irrigation. She warned that if the central government does not step in, the agrarian community may lose confidence in both state and national leadership.

Kavita also touched on broader governance issues, calling for systemic reforms in election oversight and exam paper security, stating that the resignation of individual ministers or officials will not solve structural problems.
