Telangana Mahila Congress Reports Record Membership Surge

In a rapid organisational push, the Mahila Congress has become one of the strongest wings of the party in Telangana. Over the past three months, the women's unit has rolled out membership drives in all 19 districts of the state, registering more than 1.16 lakh new women members – the highest figure recorded for any state in the country.

Lamba highlighted that the surge reflects a growing confidence among women in the Congress platform, especially as the party seeks to rebuild its grassroots presence ahead of the upcoming elections. She announced that a new state women’s executive committee and district presidents will be appointed shortly, signalling a fresh phase of leadership and strategy.

The Telangana chapter’s success, she noted, is a testament to the party’s renewed focus on gender‑inclusive politics and its commitment to addressing local issues such as unemployment, inflation and public services.
