Reddy also appealed to Gadkari for immediate clearance of the greenfield highway that will join Hyderabad with the new capital Amaravathi. The 12‑lane route, part of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, is expected to shorten the Hyderabad‑Vijayawada distance by about 100 km, speeding up freight movement between the cities and the upcoming Port of Bunder.
