Teen Murder in Bangalore Linked to Money Demand, Police Nab Main Perpetrator

A tragic murder case unfolded in Bangalore when 13‑year‑old Prajwal of Vinayak Nagar was taken by a local man, Baskar Reddy, under the guise of purchasing fireworks for a Ganesh festive celebration. Reddy allegedly kept the boy locked inside his car, demanding a cash payment from the family. While intoxicated, Reddy forced the child to record a video that he later used to extort his parents.

According to the police, Reddy assaulted the child with a brick inside the vehicle, causing fatal injuries. He then concealed the corpse in the car’s boot and attempted to escape toward Andhra Pradesh. The suspect lost control of his vehicle, colliding with a wall and later causing multiple accidents on Bellari Service Road, where bystanders seized him.

Investigators who opened the trunk discovered the boy’s body, prompting a rigorous murder probe. Reddy’s statements to investigators suggested the boy had accidentally rolled onto the road, but forensic analysis disproved this claim. The police have arrested Reddy and are actively searching for an accomplice named Yelukundalavada.
