Technology Drives Down PDP and Land Record Grievances in Uttar Pradesh
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the pivotal role of technology in curbing public grievances across Uttar Pradesh. He noted that when he assumed office in 2017, roughly 60% of complaints were linked to the Public Distribution System (PDS).
The introduction of electronic point‑of‑sale (e‑POS) machines and the digital linking of about 80,000 fair‑price shops created a transparent supply chain. As a result, manipulation opportunities vanished, and today nearly 16 crore beneficiaries receive ration with almost no PDS‑related complaints.
In the revenue sector, the chief minister pointed out that 3.4 million land‑related cases—spanning disputes, measurements, inheritance, and transfers—were pending in 2017. Over the past nine and a half years, the administration resolved these cases, even as nine lakh new matters entered the system. Digital measurement devices installed in every tahsil now ensure that land dimensions are recorded accurately, preventing even an inch of land from being misrepresented.
Yogi also praised the success of direct benefit transfers (DBT). Senior citizens and widows now receive ₹12,000 annually directly into their bank accounts, bypassing any intermediaries. This streamlined approach exemplifies the state’s commitment to transparent, efficient governance.
The chief minister called for continued digital integration, urging that every grievance mechanism be fortified with technology to guarantee swift, merit‑based resolutions and to reinforce public confidence in constitutional institutions.
