Describing Tawang as a land of peace, compassion and harmony, Khandu said the gathering was historic because, for the first time, child rights commissions from all North‑Eastern states sat together to discuss protection and promotion of children's rights. She pointed out that challenges such as trafficking and online threats often cross state borders, making inter‑state coordination indispensable. The chief minister expressed confidence that the conference will pave the way for best‑practice exchange, stronger enforcement of child protection laws and swift response mechanisms to online hazards.
