Tarun Chugh Highlights 6,060 Drug Cases and Rising Death Toll in Punjab

Addressing the Upper House, Tarun Chugh cited official figures that show 6,060 drug‑related cases were filed across Punjab in 2024, making the state the leader in such incidents nationwide. He noted that drug abuse caused 89 fatalities in the previous year, a number that has already risen to 106 this year. Chugh argued that the Punjab government has failed to curb the influx of illicit substances, which he says is being facilitated by drones delivering contraband across the border.
