Tamil Nadu’s organ donation contribution reaches one‑third of national total, minister declares
Coimbatore – In a heartfelt address on August 3, Tamil Nadu’s health minister K.G. Arun Raj announced that the state continues to lead India in organ donation after death, supplying roughly one‑third of the country’s donated organs. He spoke at the "Life After Life" event where a new "Wall of Honor" was revealed to celebrate donors whose gifts have rescued patients awaiting transplants. Arun Raj recalled the personal sorrow his family endured, which added an emotional layer to the ceremony. He also outlined the government’s response to recent transplant‑related scandals, emphasizing that stricter safeguards have been introduced while maintaining full transparency. Any entity that flouts the rules, he warned, will face the strongest possible penalties.
