London conference to showcase Tamil Nadu as manufacturing hub

The centerpiece of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s London itinerary is an investor conference slated for mid‑September. Organisers expect participation from global venture funds, equipment makers and tech innovators.

Tamil Nadu’s economic blueprint targets a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036, and the state has already signed memoranda of understanding with more than a hundred companies in its first 110 days in office. The agreements promise investments worth roughly ₹1,02,514 crore and the creation of about 1.21 lakh jobs.

During the conference, the CM will underline the advantages of locating production facilities in the state – from well‑developed ports and road networks to a youthful, technically skilled workforce.

The visit also follows a recent trip by Industry Minister K. Kirtnana to South Korea, where several auto‑component and technology firms pledged investment, reinforcing the momentum of Tamil Nadu’s pro‑business agenda.
