Swatantra Dev Singh Says Modi-Yogi Popularity Will Deliver UP
Bulandshahr: Political statements have grown sharper in Uttar Pradesh as the 2027 Assembly elections draw closer. Minister Swatantra Dev Singh has declared that the BJP will achieve a one-sided victory, crediting the popularity of PM Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath, their integrity, and the government's programmes for the welfare of the underprivileged.
Talking to journalists in Bulandshahr, Singh said that the state enjoys a peaceful environment under Yogi Adityanath's leadership. He said the government is steadily working to secure the dignity and welfare of the poor. He argued that the double-engine government has earned the public's trust and that the BJP would gain from it in the forthcoming polls.
Singh responded to Akhilesh Yadav's charges of malpractice in the recently concluded MLC polls, insisting that the elections were conducted fairly and peacefully. He stated that BJP workers do not subscribe to violence or intimidation and that no significant incident was recorded during the voting. The polls, he said, were held under the Election Commission's supervision with the government offering full cooperation.
According to Singh, BJP workers are engaged in strengthening the organisation and serving people throughout all 365 days of the year. He said the party equips its workers through training camps, rallies, and conferences. He described this disciplined network and ground-level work as the party's core strength.
When the MLC contest was described as a semifinal for the 2027 Assembly elections, Singh said the BJP's organisation is always working among the public. He said the party seeks not merely to win contests but to gain the people's faith through service.
Commenting on Akhilesh Yadav's statement about Azam Khan, Singh said the Samajwadi Party's agenda is clear to everyone. He claimed the party tries to reach power through goondaism, corruption, and plunder, while the BJP's purpose is to respect the poor and roll out welfare measures for them. He added that the government serves people of every religion and community.
Singh pointed to the double-engine government's initiatives for the poor, such as four crore pucca homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 11 crore toilets, Ayushman Bharat, and the Kisan Samman Nidhi. He said the government's mission is to offer every section of society dignity and equal opportunities for growth.
He also said that under PM Modi's leadership, national security has been reinforced. He stated that Naxalism has been eliminated from several districts and that peace and development are now emerging in those regions. He added that any terrorist attempt to carry out an act in the country meets a firm reply.
On law and order, the minister said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership has brought peace to the state and put a check on goondaism. He asserted that women are now able to travel even at night.
On Sanjay Nishad's remarks about reservation, Singh said the Constitution operates according to its own framework. He stated that all NDA partners are united and working together. He acknowledged that allies may hold separate agendas but said they act collectively when elections arrive. He concluded that there are no differences within the NDA and that all will work together for the public.
