Suvendu Adhikari Promises Incentive‑Rich Policy to Attract Investors

Kolkata, October 14 – West Bengal’s Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said the state will roll out a new industrial policy before the Diwali holiday, featuring a transparent land framework and generous incentive schemes. Speaking at the inauguration of Haldaia Petrochemicals Ltd’s Rs 6,000 crore phenol and acetone plant, the CM outlined the policy’s focus on clear land allotment criteria and detailed subsidy provisions for electricity charges.

He noted that a senior ministerial committee has already prepared the policy draft, which will be presented to business stakeholders ahead of the festival. The incentive plan is expected to list specific benefits for investors, including reduced power tariffs and streamlined regulatory clearances.

Adhikari also criticized the legacy of the left‑front and Trinamool governments, claiming their policies led to the exodus of numerous industries from the state. He pledged that within a year Bengal would become a "destination of choice" for manufacturers nationwide, coining the slogan "Chalo Bengal" for the upcoming investment drive.

The chief minister concluded by asserting that no force can halt the anticipated influx of industrial projects, as West Bengal moves forward with a "double‑engine" strategy to boost its economic engine.
