From Surgical Strikes to Sindoor: How India's Policy Stands Tall

During the 52nd India James & Jewellery Awards, Home Minister Amit Shah recounted the evolution of India’s defence doctrine, from the 2019 surgical strikes to the recent launch of Operation Sindoor.

He noted that each action—whether a precision strike, an aerial bombardment or a cross‑border operation—reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to a policy that makes potential aggressors pause and reconsider.

Shah praised Modi for the willingness to take tough decisions inside Pakistani territory when required, calling it a hallmark of the current security mindset that keeps adversaries on edge.

The speech also highlighted non‑defence milestones: the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, the Kashi Vishwanath corridor, the Kedarnath renovation and the Mahakaleshwar project, all cited as proof of India’s broader ambition.

Economically, Shah emphasized that India now stands among the top five global economies, buoyed by a 7.8 % growth rate in the first quarter of the fiscal year and record‑breaking export figures under PLI incentives.

He projected that by 2047, India aims to be the world’s number one nation across all domains, a goal shared by 140 crore Indians who trust the government’s long‑term roadmap.

Finally, Shah commended the award platform for celebrating India’s confidence, craftsmanship and aspiration, and predicted that the nation will emerge as a leading global hub for diamonds and jewellery.
