Suresh Gopi announces uniform LPG booking interval across India

During a Facebook post, Petroleum Minister Suresh Gopi confirmed that the government has removed the earlier restriction that kept rural LPG booking intervals longer than those in cities. Effective immediately, all household LPG consumers—whether residing in towns or remote villages—may place a new cylinder order after 25 days.

The announcement comes after a period of heightened global energy pressure caused by conflicts in the Middle East and shipping disruptions in the Hormuz Strait. With domestic supply now steadier, the ministry has asked oil marketing companies to adopt the revised schedule without delay.
