Surakha Alleges Political Targeting After Cabinet Ouster in Telangana

Konda Surakha, Telangana’s former minister for forests, environment and infrastructure, described her abrupt exit from the cabinet as a calculated political strike. She said the decision was taken without any formal explanation or prior warning, and that the governor had received a handwritten note without official insignia.

Surakha accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of using his influence over the Congress high command to force her removal, alleging that he warned party leaders that failure to comply would trigger a wave of resignations. She further claimed that the chief minister’s family members, including senior minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and MP Vem Narsimha Reddy, conspired with former TDP leaders to single out her department.

She contrasted this with the inaction taken against senior leaders who previously made inflammatory statements, suggesting a selective approach to discipline. Surakha urged the party to reassess its strategy ahead of the municipal elections, emphasizing the need for fairness and accountability.
