Supreme Court petition filed by India Block highlights electoral grievances

India Block has approached the Supreme Court with a petition outlining several objections to the conduct of the Election Commission and the central government. The filing alleges violations of democratic principles and requests judicial intervention to protect the electoral process.

Congress leaders, including V. Shivdasan, said the petition reflects the collective concerns of opposition parties who intend to use constitutional avenues – meetings with the Chief Election Commissioner, the President and the Chief Justice – to voice their demands. They warned that failure to address these issues could lead to wider unrest and an escalation of protest activities.
