Supreme Court Orders Final Report on Campus Mental Health by Oct 31, 2026

On 27 May 2026 the Supreme Court gave the NTF a deadline of 31 October 2026 to file its comprehensive report. The order follows an earlier directive dated 6 February 2026 that appointed former chief statistician Prof. T.C.A. Anant as the technical advisor for data analysis.

The final submission must cover three core responsibilities: identifying primary causes of student suicides, reviewing existing laws and institutional frameworks, and recommending statutory and policy amendments. The aim is to ensure robust investigations, accountability, preventive actions, and equal opportunities for marginalized groups.
