Supreme Court Sets Nov 30 Deadline for Aravalli Report

The Supreme Court of India has ordered the expert panel examining the definition and protection of the Aravalli Range to submit its findings by 30 November 2026. The decision follows a previous request by the committee for an extension to February 2027, which the Court deemed unreasonable. The bench emphasized that the panel must complete its work within the next three months and produce an interim report to keep the judicial process moving. The judges also directed the committee to follow a transparent consultation process, taking into account the views of stakeholders from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi, and Haryana, as well as local indigenous communities.
