Supreeya Sulekha Demands Resignation of Education Minister After NEET Leak Scandal
Supreeya Sulekha, the NCP MP from Maharashtra, used a press platform at Jantar Mantar on Friday to demand the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The call came after the recent NEET‑UG question‑paper leak, which she described as a “massive breach affecting millions of students”.
Sule stood beside Sonam Wangchuk and activist Abhijit Dipke, urging the climber to discontinue his hunger strike for health reasons while maintaining the demand for ministerial accountability.
She labeled the paper‑leak episode as a coordinated wrongdoing that undermines the fairness of the nation’s most important entrance exam. According to Sule, the incident reflects a broader pattern of irregularities that have disadvantaged countless young aspirants.
The parliamentarian also voiced strong opposition to the draft Constitution Amendment Bill, insisting that any amendment must be preceded by a thorough and transparent discussion. On the contentious "One Nation, One Election" agenda, she said the proposal is still under deliberation and premature to implement.
Defending her recent meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Sule said engaging with officials from all parties is essential for addressing citizens’ issues in a federal democracy.
She also touched upon internal negotiations within the Pawar family after a split in the party. Sule revealed that her late brother Ajit Pawar’s last wish was for the factions to reunite, but following his death, the family has ended those talks.
