Sujaalam Shakti Groups Boost Rural Income Through Water Monitoring

The initiative not only strengthens water quality surveillance but also creates a new source of livelihood for rural women. After receiving training, each woman receives an FTK and is paid a stipulated fee for every sample collected from functional household taps, schools, Anganwadi centres, health posts and hand‑pumps. Their role extends to educating villagers on safe drinking water, water‑saving practices and rainwater harvesting.
