Subhash Calls Rahul Gandhi’s Style ‘Self‑Serving’, Praises Modi’s Governance
Speaking to IANS, N.V. Subhash, grandson of the late Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, delivered a damning assessment of Rahul Gandhi’s conduct within the Congress party. He described Gandhi as an “uncompromising, self‑serving politician who refuses to heed senior counsel.”
Subhash pointed out that the internal machinery of Congress that once thrived on debate and collective decision‑making has all but vanished. He said senior members are sidelined, and Gandhi relies on a small circle of opportunistic aides, eroding the party’s democratic fabric.
In contrast, Subhash praised the current administration under Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its unwavering dedication to national development. He highlighted Modi’s focus on infrastructure, digital initiatives, and a clear economic agenda as evidence of a leader who “does not shy away from responsibility.”
Recounting his grandfather’s achievements, Subhash emphasized Rao’s role in rescuing India from a severe balance‑of‑payments crisis in 1991. He argued that without Rao’s bold reforms—such as the devaluation of the rupee—the Congress could not have remained united after Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination.
Concluding his remarks, Subhash warned that the Indian voter base is increasingly disenchanted with dynastic politics, seeking leaders who deliver tangible progress rather than clinging to familial prestige.
