Thousands of students demand cancellation of contested exams and CBI probe

Students from across Jharkhand, numbering in the thousands, have converged on Ranchi to protest alleged malpractice in the JPSC and JSSC examinations. They are calling for the immediate cancellation of the 14th JPSC preliminary exam, reforms in the recruitment process, and a full CBI investigation into the matter.

The protest escalated after a third round of talks between government officials and student representatives ended without agreement. Since then, demonstrators have systematically broken multiple barricades, marching toward the assembly while police attempt to block their progress with water cannons and reinforced security.

The movement has drawn participants traveling by bus, train and private vehicles, many of whom spent the previous night near the Jay Prakash Singh Munda Stadium before joining the march this morning.
