Student body calls for restraint after deadly clashes in Rawalkot, Murshidabad, Kotli

The student federation representing the Jammu‑Kashmir region voiced deep sorrow over the deaths that occurred in Rawalkot, Muzaffarabad, Kotli and other POK locations. The association condemned the alleged use of disproportionate force against crowds gathering peacefully to voice concerns. It also expressed alarm over the imposed restrictions on telecommunications, noting that access to information becomes vital during periods of civil unrest. The JSA appealed to the Pakistani administration to immediately cease all coercive actions, allow free flow of data, and respect the constitutional guarantee of free expression and assembly. The statement warned that prolonged instability would hit students and young people hardest, disrupting academic calendars, limiting classroom interaction and curbing the internet essential for modern education.
