Stolen Gold, Silver Jewellery and Cash Seized in Jhansi Raid

Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh – Police officials announced that the raid on two alleged thieves in Babina yielded significant recovered assets. Items seized include gold and silver ornaments that were reported missing after a burglary at the Bhela checkpoint area on June 29‑30.

In addition to the jewellery, investigators recovered more than ₹3,000 in cash, a small firearm known locally as a tamacha, and several unused cartridges. The haul was secured following a gun‑battle between the suspects and police on July 16, after which both individuals were arrested.

Senior Circle Officer Priya Singh emphasized that the recovered items have been catalogued and will be handed over to the victims after forensic verification. The department is also pursuing additional leads to uncover any broader networks involved in the theft.

The successful recovery is being hailed as a positive outcome of coordinated field operations, reinforcing the commitment of Uttar Pradesh police to protect property and maintain public safety.
