Stolen Gold Bangle Chain Leads to Motorcycle Seizure in South Delhi

Delhi police’s special squad from Manasarovar Park arrested two habitual snatchers and a third person who had bought the loot. The operation also resulted in the seizure of the motorbike used in the theft.

The complaint was filed on September 9 by Guddi Devi, who said she and her nephew were on a motorcycle when two men on a splendor bike approached from behind. One of the assailants grabbed a gold bangle from her left ear and fled towards Durgapuri.

A thorough site inspection, creation of a layout plan and analysis of CCTV footage enabled investigators to obtain clear images of the suspects and the registration number of the motorcycle. The registration directed police to the bike’s owner, Meenakshi, who disclosed that her brother Punit was the rider.

Punit was taken into custody from his home and the motorcycle was recovered. During questioning he revealed his partnership with Vikas alias Poochi, who was later captured near Nand Nagri bus stand. Both were presented before the court and granted a one‑day police custody.

The inquiry also uncovered that the stolen gold bangle was sold near Tahirpur Gurudwara to a man named Arjun for approximately ₹8,000. Arjun later resold the same piece for around ₹10,500 in B‑Block, Nand Nagri. Since the stolen item was no longer in his possession, Arjun was arrested in accordance with legal guidelines.
