Steel Exports Surge 38% in June 2026 Amid Infrastructure Drive

Exports of steel in June 2026 reached 616,000 tonnes, up 38.1 percent from 446,000 tonnes a year earlier. The value of exports also jumped, rising to 4,674 crore rupees, a 43.5 percent increase over the previous year’s 3,256.9 crore rupees.

The surge reflects strong overseas demand and the competitive pricing of Indian steel products, bolstered by government investments in domestic infrastructure that have kept production capacities fully utilised.
