Statues of Freedom Fighters and Cultural Icons Raised in Ayodhya, Prayagraj and More
Uttar Pradesh’s effort to safeguard the memory of its distinguished personalities has resulted in the erection of several new statues across the state. In Ayodhya, a six‑foot sand‑stone depiction of Lord Surya and a ten‑foot sand‑stone Ganesh now stand alongside a six‑foot bronze of sage Valmiki. Etah’s martyr’s ground features a towering 12.5‑foot bronze of Babu Kalyan Singh, while Sitapur’s Mahmudabad hosts a similar bronze of Mahant Avaidyanath. Prayagraj celebrates Kamla Bahuguna with a six‑foot bronze statue, and Farrukhabad honors Maharana Pratap with a 12.5‑foot equestrian bronze on Jahanganj Road. Additional projects in Banda, Lucknow and Bulandshahr aim to install statues of Rani Avanti Bai, Chhatrapati Shivaji and Maharaja Chhatrasal, extending the tribute to a wider array of historic leaders.
