Statistics show Disha programme reduced crimes against women

Data released by the previous YSR Congress Party government showed a 27 % decline in crimes against women up to May 2024. Average investigation time fell from 156 days in 2017 to 28 days in 2022, and more than half of serious offenders were arrested within 48 hours. The Disha system’s SOS feature, women‑only police stations, and fast‑track courts were credited for these gains.
