States Echo Guru Values on Ashadha Full Moon
Chief ministers from Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Assam and the deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh joined the chorus of respect for gurus on Guru Purnima.
Rajasthan’s Bhajan Lal Sharma lauded gurus as the first path‑finders of knowledge, culture and life values, praying that their blessings remain ever‑present. Uttarakhand’s Pushkar Singh Dhami poetically compared the guru’s visage to the moon, urging citizens to recognise teachers as guides who provide direction, discipline and purpose.
Delhi’s Rekha Gupta highlighted that gurus constitute the axis of Indian culture, providing wisdom, morals and a divine force that steers individuals toward self‑realisation, societal virtue and national progress. Madhya Pradesh’s Mohan Yadav praised gurus as living deities who render life meaningful, extending wishes for prosperity to the people of his state.
Bihar’s Samrat Chaudhary, Assam’s Himanta Biswa Sarma and deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also reaffirmed the sacred role of gurus, recalling the contributions of sage Veda Vyasa in compiling the Vedas and authoring the Mahabharata, and urging the nation to follow their teachings for service and ethical conduct.
