Nagaland’s policy makers are redefining traditional festivals and music gatherings as engines of fiscal growth. The meeting, led by Information and Public Relations Secretary Orenthung Lotha, presented data from an initial study conducted by LiveNow, a specialist consultancy with over a decade of experience in the entertainment sector. The study highlighted opportunities for skill development, entrepreneurship and tourism expansion through a structured live‑entertainment ecosystem. According to the presentation, nurturing local performers, event managers, technicians and production crews can create a cascade of employment opportunities, especially for the state’s youth. Strengthening existing infrastructure—venues, transportation links and digital connectivity—was flagged as essential to accommodate national and international shows. Improved facilities, the report argued, would raise Nagaland’s capacity to host high‑profile events, positioning the state as a premier destination for experience‑based tourism.
