In response to the ongoing floods, Assam’s chief minister announced a comprehensive review of the donations amassed by 72 YouTubers operating from across the country. The review will confirm whether the contributions have been handed over to the state’s relief authority and assess the manner in which they have been deployed.

The government will request each YouTuber to submit a full account of the funds received, the channels through which they were transferred, and the specific relief activities funded. The cyber cell of the Assam police will continue to monitor the fundraising accounts for any irregularities.
