State Ministers Claim Dialogue, Not Political Pressure, Led to Decision

Patna, July 28 – Bihar’s ministers clarified that the withdrawal of cases against NEET protestors stemmed from direct negotiations with student representatives, not from any political lobbying. According to Minister Ram Kripal Yadav, a joint press conference with protest leaders was held, during which the administration sought to address the core grievances.

Yadav emphasized that the government “tried its best to meet the demands,” one of which was the cancellation of ongoing legal proceedings. He added that the decision was taken without any influence from opposition parties or external groups seeking to tarnish the movement through violent rhetoric.

Minister Dilip Jaiswal echoed the sentiment, describing the opposition’s criticism as merely “accusatory” and unrelated to the factual basis of the withdrawal.

JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar, while acknowledging the government’s stance, warned that the release does not exempt alleged offenders from future prosecution if further evidence emerges.
