State Government to Provide ₹5 Lakh to Families of Deceased Infants, Treat Injured

In the wake of the Amravati hospital fire, Maharashtra’s chief minister announced a compensation package of ₹5 lakh for each family that lost a newborn. The relief amount will be disbursed directly by the state treasury.

Furthermore, the government has instructed the Amravati district collector to ensure that all medical expenses for the injured babies are borne by the state. This includes surgeries, intensive care, and any follow‑up treatments required for a full recovery.

The compensation scheme is intended to alleviate the financial burden on grieving parents while the high‑level probe proceeds. Officials emphasized that the assistance will be provided without any bureaucratic delay.
