Located in Bakrol, Anand district, the newly commissioned district jail is a ₹67.52 crore project spread over 120,000 sq m.

The prison accommodates 330 male and 40 female detainees, providing a total capacity of 370. Its built‑up area of 16,356.10 sq m houses a range of welfare facilities.

Key features include vocational training workshops, legal assistance desks, a study centre and a library aimed at skill development and education.

Recreational infrastructure comprises indoor game zones, a cultural hall, a meditation hall and an open‑air theatre for community‑building activities.

Essential services such as a hospital, canteen, laundry, barber shop and welfare office are available on‑site.

Security provisions feature high‑security and women’s barracks, under‑trial cells, a watch tower, and specialised rooms for video‑conference court sessions.

A dedicated State Reserve Police Force barrack, administrative office and a modern kitchen‑dining area support both security personnel and prison staff.
