Stalin Highlights DMK’s Role in Social Justice on Foundation Day

On the occasion of DMK’s 78th foundation day, youth wing secretary Uddhaynidhi Stalin used his X platform to underline the party’s unwavering focus on social justice.

He traced the party’s origins to a rainy September day in 1949 when C.N. Annadurai, then 40, launched the movement with a group of young activists, among them a 20‑year‑old M. Karunanidhi.

Stalin asserted that whether the party has been in power or in opposition, its policies have consistently aimed at uplifting the Tamil populace through equitable development, women’s empowerment, and industrial progress.

The statement also recalled DMK’s historic campaigns—from demanding the renaming of Madras State to Tamil Nadu to advocating for enhanced state powers—showcasing its role in reshaping the region’s socio‑political narrative.

He finished by calling on cadres to work with full dedication, reminding them that the black and red colors symbolize the lifeblood of the party, and expressed confidence in a robust future under the stewardship of M.K. Stalin.
