Following an improvement in air quality, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has withdrawn Stage-I of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in the National Capital Region (NCR). The decision comes after the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 140, placing it in the ‘Moderate’ category. Although still considered ‘unhealthy for sensitive groups,’ this reading represents a significant improvement. The Sub-Committee on GRAP, considering favorable meteorological conditions and forecasts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), determined that the air quality would likely remain in the ‘Moderate’ category in the coming days. All concerned agencies in the NCR are instructed to maintain current air quality levels and adhere to all existing directives from the Commission, MoEFCC, CPCB, and related authorities.
