SSB Operation Nets Over 1kg of Narcotics and a Handgun in Bihar

The Sashastra Seema Bal’s 41st battalion, in partnership with Bihar’s anti‑narcotics task force, confiscated more than a kilogram of illicit substances and a civilian firearm during a series of raids near the India‑Nepal border. The first raid, executed at the wooden depot in Galgalia, resulted in the seizure of 507 g of brown sugar and 814 g of amphetamine, alongside a locally‑made pistol and related accessories.

On the following day, officers recovered an additional 410 g of brown sugar after a reliable source tipped off the authorities. Later, a specialized patrolling party moving on National Highway 327C intercepted three suspects from West Bengal. A sniffer dog flagged a powdery drug, which a detection kit identified as brown sugar. The three men – Akram Hussain, Tapan Das, and Ibrahim Hak – confirmed that the substance had been obtained from a shoe shop in Panjipara and was earmarked for delivery to a woman referred to as ‘Didi’. All evidence has now been submitted to the local police stations for judicial processing.
