Spectacular Rituals Mark Mahakal’s Ashes Aarti on Shrawan Shukla Shashti

The sacred day of Shravana Shukla Shashti saw an extraordinary display of devotion at Mahakaleshwar Temple. After the initial drum roll, the priest performed a series of rituals: a mantra chant, a holy water offering, and a panchamrit abhishek that bathed the idol in milk, curd, ghee, honey, and fruit extracts. Baba Mahakal was then crowned and draped with a moon ornament. The final ash aarti, accompanied by the resonant sounds of drums, nagadas, and conches, filled the temple courtyard, while devotees chanted "Jai Shri Mahakal" in unison.
