The SIT, operating under the direction of senior police officials, is gathering testimonies, auditing ledgers and tracing the flow of funds from devotees to temple accounts. Preliminary statements suggest that certain officials may have diverted contributions for personal use, prompting the chief minister to label the act as a grave violation of public trust. The SIT’s interim report will be handed over to the high‑level committee for further action, and any culpable parties will face criminal proceedings as per the Indian Penal Code.
