Special Investigation Team Formed to Probe Kolkata Puja Stampede

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited the site of the Chorebagan Durga Puja pandal on Saturday night, inspected the damage and met with police officials. He announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) chaired by a sitting Calcutta High Court judge. The SIT will include members from the STF, CID and other relevant departments to ensure a thorough and transparent inquiry into the stampede that claimed 19 lives and injured at least 25 others.
