Speaker Highlights Role of Volunteers and Institutions in Nation Building

Jaipur, 22 August — Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla addressed a gathering at the Maheshwari Ayurveda Science and Research Centre, declaring that nation‑building is a collective undertaking. He praised the equal importance of citizens, volunteer organisations and social institutions in shaping India’s future. Birla argued that contributions should be judged not only by financial value but also by effort, professionalism, knowledge and altruism. Reflecting on the COVID‑19 crisis, he emphasized that India’s deep‑rooted social consciousness and centuries‑old practice of caring for neighbours provide immense power. The speaker linked these values to the timeless Indian ideal of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," which he said equips society with moral stamina and resilience.
